Faroe Islands Photography Tour 2023
Dates: May 5th - May 11th, 2023
We are limiting this adventure to 10 participants in order to maximize the experience for everyone.
Remote and mysterious. Rugged and dramatic still yet so beautiful. It’s like being in an episode of Game of Thrones. The Faroe Islands have a magnetic attraction for landscape photographers, and for a good reason. Battered by the elements, towering cliffs rise from the deep sea. Huge waves are constantly pounding the shoreline, creating amazing formations. Isolated in the Atlantic Ocean, halfway between Norway and Iceland, National Geographic named the Faroe Islands the most authentic and unspoiled group of islands in the world.
This comes as no surprise. Dynamic, constantly changing light and weather make these islands magical for photography. We can experience 4 seasons in an hour. One moment it might be raining, and the next we have warm sunshine on our faces. Turn around and it might be snowing or hailing. It’s fascinating and beautiful.
This photography tour will take you to some of the most amazing places on the Faroe Islands. Visiting in early May we are likely to get some dramatic conditions (and avoid crowds at the popular places) We will also spend a couple of days exploring the unbelievable Suduroy with its crazy cliffs and dramatic coastline.

Itinerary
With regards to an itinerary, we do not have a fixed itinerary/tour program for our tours and workshops. The Faroe Islands is extremely unpredictable because of its many local weather systems. This means conditions can change within minutes and kilometers. That’s why we always are working through a very flexible schedule, but locations such as Gjógv, Gásadalur, Sørvágsvatn, Saksun, Tjørnuvík, Funningur, Nordradalur, and Sornfelli plus many more are on our list. We will also spend a couple of days exploring Suduroy, the southernmost island. It’s a full-on photography tour/workshop – so the activities are mainly planned around sunrise and sunset but expect to be out chasing the light during the day too. The islands are packed with locations, so the weather and light conditions will decide where we will go.
